Key Fob Security

This article discusses the benefits of using key fobs for building security in condominiums. Key fobs are convenient and offer a level of security because they allow for identification of individuals who access a building or specific areas within the building. Fob systems can also enforce time and individual restrictions on access to certain areas of the building. However, the integrity of key fob security can be compromised by businesses that duplicate fobs without proper authorization, which poses a safety risk for condo residents. To ensure building security, condo management should maintain an inventory of all fobs issued to owners and deactivate fobs that are believed to be in the hands of unauthorized individuals.
